Adelphi University is a private not-for-profit institution that found its genesis in the year 1896 as Adelphi Academy a private preparatory school in Brooklyn, New York. Since then the university has been home to more than 100,000 students who have since graduated and found fulfilling careers.
The university campus is located in a suburban region of New York on a land of 75 acres. It was the first private, coeducational institution of higher education in Long Island. In the year 2006, the university was recognized as a 'Best Buy' in the Fiske Guide to Colleges.
