For Undergraduate Programs

To be eligible for Admission into any undergraduate program with American Intercontinental University the applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • All completed applications for admission.
  • Submit Official Transcripts of High School Graduation or equivalent by the end of first quarter of enrollment.
  • An admissions interview may be requested by the student or the admissions committee.
  • Non-native speakers of English are required to provide proof of English proficiency with TOEFL or other English proficiency assessment) before the admission.

American Intercontinental University offers conditional admission where the students can begin courses with a pending receipt of their Proof of High School Graduation or equivalency. Proof of High School Graduation must be received by American Intercontinental University before the first day of the second quarter. An extension is given after an approval from the University’s Registrar’s Office.

Candidates may be asked to provide additional documentation to support the validity of their high school graduation. Any candidates who do not provide documentation of high school graduation or equivalency or submits invalid proof of high school graduation will be withdrawn from the University. Students will not be considered as regular students at the University until the Proof of High School Graduation or equivalent is received, evaluated and confirmed. After the receipt and evaluation of the required documents from an accredited high school or equivalency, students will be notified of admission. Students conditionally admitted will have to pay the tuition and fee charges and are financially responsible for all costs of attending the University.

  • Students can be conditionally enrolled in the graduate-level AIU courses as a non-matriculating student for one session while your official transcripts are being reviewed. Once the verification of the documentation is done student will be given full-time status.

Transfer Credits

84% of AIU Online students, receive credits for previous school or military experience. The number of credits received will be reviewed by assessment evaluators towards the required credits for the degree program. For Associate Degrees, up to 75% of the degree program’s credits requirements are transferable. For Bachelor Degrees, up to 75% of the degree program’s credits requirements are transferable. For Master’s Degree, up to 12 credit hours.

International students can earn credits from:

  • U.S. accredited international institutions
  • Accredited Title-IV eligible institutions located abroad
  • Evaluated credits from an acceptable Credential Evaluators
