About Buena Vista University

Buena Vista University (BVU) is a private not-for-profit institute which was founded by the Presbyterian Church as Buena Vista College in 1891. In 1995, after receiving accreditation in a graduate program of Education major, it initiated the transition from college to the university.

Over time there were many developments in the infrastructure and facilities with an intention to accommodate more students. Its mission is to prepare students for lifetime benefit with dynamic academic, professional and co-curricular programs.
