Charleston Southern University is a private for-profit institution located at Charleston, South Carolina. The university was established in 1964 under the name Baptist College. The institution gained university status in 1990 acknowledging its infrastructural growth and education quality improvement and correspondingly changed its name to Charleston Southern University.
