Cornerstone University(CU) is an independent evangelical Christian University located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. A four year, private, not-for-profit University, Cornerstone offers both Undergraduate and graduate programs. The main objective of the university is to empower men and women to excel as influencers in the world by providing students focused programs. The acceptance rate at CU is 73.4%.

Founded in 1941 as the Baptist Bible Institute, Cornerstone did not receive its accreditation until 1972. It was referred to as the Grand Rapids Baptist College for some time. The institution reformed into Cornerstone University in July 1999. David Otis Fuller served as the first President of the University from 1941 to 1944. The current President of Cornerstone is Joseph M. Stowell, III.

Notable alumni include former baseball player, Chad Curtis, Reid Ribble, a politician, and footballer, Stephen Herdsman.

Cornerstone University offers traditional as well as undergraduate programs through the Graduate and Professional Studies division. The student population at CU is 2,447. CU hosts students from over 20 countries, including China, Congo, Australia, Japan, Canada, and has branches in Kalamazoo and Lansing.
