Des Moines is a public university located in Des Moines, Iowa. The college was founded in 1898 and since its inception has always supported women's education. By 1927, the college has undergone a relocation. By 1958, the name of the college changed to Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery. By 1980, two new colleges, the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery and the College of Biological Sciences were established.
