About Frontier Nursing University (FNU)

Frontier Nursing University(FNU)  is a private not-for-profit university headquartered at Hyden, Kentucky. It started the first family nurse practitioner program in the U.S. It was founded in 1939 by Mary Breckenridge as a Frontier Graduate School of Midwifery. She started it to offer proper healthcare to the rural women of the U.S.

At present, it is one of the largest not-for-profit universities in America providing advanced Nursing and Midwifery Education. It has students from all the states of the U.S. and many other countries. It does constant innovation in family Nursing since its foundation. 56% of graduates are employed in rural, health professional shortage areas.
