Hamline University is a private not-for-profit liberal arts college and It was founded in1854. The university is known for its emphasis on experiential learning, service, and social justice. The university offers programs in the College of Liberal Arts, School of Education, School of Business, and the Creative Writing Programs.

Hamline students have the opportunity to participate in various on-campus activities; they have a number of clubs, intramural teams, and student events that are run through the Student Affairs Division.

Hamline's clubs include organizations with focuses on various academic subjects, the arts, journalism, culture, advocacy/social justice, recreation, and spirituality and also have two Greek organizations giving an opportunity to students to explore. 

HU also has partnerships with four foreign universities which allow students to study abroad and pay the same rate that they would at Hamline and better view of Global environment that what changes are coming and how can we deal with it to make a better society for beings.
