Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) is a Christian, private not-for-profit university affiliated by the Wesleyan Church. The university was established in Marion within a few miles of the Indiana Conference headquarters, Fairmont. In 1988, Marion College was renamed as Indiana Wesleyan University.

The university was founded by the trustees of the Indiana Conference of The Wesleyan Methodist Church in the year 1920 as Marion College in order to provide education in liberal arts and professional courses.
