Palm Beach State College is a Public institution located in LakeWorth, Florida. The college, since its inception in 1933 has played a vital role in the development of Palm Beach County. It was Florida's first public community college. It had humble beginnings with 41 students and 3 classrooms.

The college was established to satiate the educational needs of the Florida-residents trying to overcome the challenges of the Great Depression. The college had passed through severe economic crises so as to conduct classes in Air-Force Base,town-hall and jails. The student population is from over 158 countries now. The college has grown to become the fourth largest in the Florida College System.
