About the Scholarship

A.B. Noel Endowed Scholarship is sponsored by the Lincoln Community Foundation. The organization was started with a mission to provide leadership and resources to help build a great city and for those who can provide financial resources needed to accomplish great things, the Foundation seeks to be a valuable facilitator. A.B. Noel Endowed Scholarship was established in 2008 to the seniors or graduates of Wood River, or present Central Community College-Grand Island or Concordia University campus nursing students.


What must applicants do to apply for this scholarship?

  • The applicants applying for this scholarship grant must have been completed their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application to receive this award.

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in the nursing program at Central Community College in Grand Island or Concordia University in Seward.

  • Candidates must show the preference and involvement in high school, college and community activities. 

  • Applicants must prepare an essay describing his ideas.

A.B. Noel Endowed Scholarship

  • This scholarship award amount varies depending on the student's involvement in the academics, the amount ranges from $500 to $2000.

  • The number of awards offered by this scholarship is limited to one candidate each year and is non-renewable 


Deadline information

The applications are to be submitted by the end of March 31, 2020. Students are informed to submit their scholarship application and other requirements are to be submitted before the due date. Applications and other information are available online from the Lincoln Community Foundation website.


Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must:

  • be a graduating senior or graduate from Wood River Rural High School in Wood River, Nebraska.

  • be enrolled for a nursing program at Central Community College in Grand Island or Concordia University in Seward.

  • be enrolled to pursue a two-year degree at Central Community College (Columbus, Hastings or Grand Island campuses) or Concordia University at Seward.

  • have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
