About the Scholarship

ABA Academic Merit Scholarship is supported by the American Bus Association. The association was established in the year 1926, ABA is one of the oldest, biggest and most regarded voice in the business. ABA is a charitable association that gives grants, explores, and proceeding with training for the motorcoach and visit industry. ABA Academic Merit Scholarship is given to both ABA and non-ABA Members. 


How to apply for this scholarship?

  • The students applying for this scholarship must have been completed their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application first to determine the financial position of a student's family.

  • The applicants are required to submit a short essay on how your major or course of study is relevant to the transportation, travel, and tourism industries.

  • Students must also demonstrate the need for financial assistance.


Scholarship Award Amount and Deadline

  • This scholarship provides up to $5000 annually and is renewable.

  • Students must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.4 on a 4.0 scale and may reapply each year if the employee or the student's parents continue to be employed by ABA members.

  • A total of 2 awards are offered to a deserving candidate.

All the necessary documents must be submitted to the institution no later than April 6, 2020, to be eligible for the scholarship. For any further details about the scholarship, a student must visit the financial aid division of the institution.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must have completed at least the first year of an accredited 4-year institution or junior college.

  • The student must have a major or course of study related to the transport, travel and tourism industry.

  • The student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher.
