About the Scholarship

The Allegheny Mountain Section of the Air & Waste Management Association is the local affiliate of the International Air & Waste Management Association.

The organization is awarding the scholarship amount to the students who are interested in pursuing a career at an academic level beyond the graduate study.

The main motive behind this award is to promote a better understanding of problems in the fields of air pollution and waste management and to provide a means for exchanging information toward resolving those problems.


How to apply for this scholarship?

  • A student must complete a scholarship application form which can be found on the official website of the foundation with all the necessary documents.

  • In addition to that, an applicant must type a one-page essay regarding his/her interest in the field of environmental engineering, and other related fields. 

  • In addition to the above transcripts, a recipient must also submit the letter of recommendation from an academic advisor.

  • Also, a letter of acceptance from his/her university or college must be submitted.

  • Additionally, a copy of a student's most recent college or high school transcript and resume should be given to the concerned financial aid department.


Award Amount and Deadline

The scholarship award amounts to $5000 to all eligible applicants annually.

The deadline date to submit all the above-mentioned documents for this scholarship is on March 31st. All applicants are required to apply for this scholarship program before the given deadline date to avoid their application being rejected.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The student's eligibility is based on academic record, plan of study, career goals, recommendations, and extra-curricular activities.

  • The student should be pursuing an environmental career, that includes Environmental Science, Engineering, or Law.
