About the Scholarship

American University is a United methodist affiliated institution and its provided partial tuition remission scholarships to children of United Methodist clergy. On top of that it provided also  financial assistance through scholarships, loans and grants administered by the Office of the United Methodist Chaplain in the Kay Spiritual Life Center.


How to apply for this scholarship?

  • Applications are available for this Scholarship online on the American University (AU) website.

  • The student must also show proof of his/her registration each semester to the scholarship officer in the Office of the University Chaplain For applying this scholarship candidate has to completed scholarship application.

  •  The candidate must provide a copy of the active appointment for the person under whose eligibility he/she is applying from a current church directory. 

  • The candidate must have to provide answers to the optional essay questions posted on the website.

  •  Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

  •  The candidate must be admitted to American University to avail this scholarship.


Award amount for the Scholarship:

  • The award amount for this scholarship is $21,278 for three consecutive years.

  • This award is renewable.

  • But a candidate can not apply this scholarship for Summer courses.


    Deadline for the Scholarship:

    Deadline for the Scholarship is 15th of January.


Eligibility Criteria

  • An applicant must maintain a grade point average of at least 2.0 out of 4 to be eligible for the scholarship.

  • A student must show the proof of enrolling each semester to the scholarship officer.

  • A student must be enrolled in any full-time UG degree prior to their 23rd birthday.
