About the Scholarship

The American Nuclear Society (ANS) provides scholarship programs to student members of the organization who are pursuing an undergraduate degree in a field related to nuclear science and nuclear engineering.

The ANS Undergraduate Scholarship program is awarded to the members on the basis of the academic and extracurricular achievements, and involvement and leadership qualities of the students within the Society.


ANS Undergraduate Scholarship Awards

  • The members of the organization who are pursuing an undergraduate degree or two-year programs are awarded scholarship amounts ranging from $2000 to $2500.

  • The scholarship amount and the number of awards available vary every year depending upon the funding received from professional divisions, ANS Board and individual donations.

  • The amount received by the students may be used towards funding the tuition and fees and other eligible college costs.


ANS Undergraduate Scholarship Application

  • The recipients of the scholarship program are selected by the scholarship committee of the Society based on certain eligibility criteria.

  • The academic and financial status of the applicant is taken into consideration.

  • The applicants must complete the application form available on the official website of ANS and submit along with required material.


ANS Undergraduate Scholarship Application Deadline

The last date to submit applications for being a recipient is April 1st. Any applications received past the deadline will be considered invalid.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a member of ANS who has enrolled for a degree in nuclear science or nuclear engineering.

  • The applicant should be U.S. citizen or an eligible noncitizen enrolled with an established ANS Student Section or Alpha Nu Sigma chapter in an accredited institution in the U.S.
