About the Scholarship

The AR Workforce Improvement Grant (WIG) is organized by the Arkansas Department of Higher Education, a public school education agency that accredits schools, assists schools in developing curricula, approving educative materials, licensing teachers, continuing education programs, and provides various other facilities.

The AR Workforce Improvement Grant (WIG) is a grant provided to those applicants who're in need of financial aid. This program focuses on those candidates who're returning to educational facilities but can't receive help from the traditional assistance institutions.


How to Apply?

The candidates are required to file the application, which is available online on the official website of the Arkansas Department of Higher Education (ADHE). 

In addition to the application, the interested eligible candidates are also requested to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which can be found online on the official website of FAFSA. 

Along with the above-mentioned documents, the respective participating educational institution may also ask the candidate to submit additional supplemental documents in order to determine the eligibility of the candidate.


Scholarship Amount

The AR Workforce Improvement Grant (WIG) provides monetary rewards amounting to $2000 each year to eligible candidates which may vary annually.

In order to renew the scholarship grant, the candidate is expected to apply again next year.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria to apply for the AR Workforce Improvement Grant (WIG) are:

  • The candidate must be 24 years of age or older.
  • The candidate must be a U.S citizen or a permanent resident alien.
  • The candidate must be an Arkansas resident for at least 6 months prior to the application deadline.

  • The candidate must be enrolled in a certificate program or an undergraduate associate’s or bachelor’s degree program.

  • The candidate must be enrolled in a minimum of three (3) credit hours.

  • The candidate must be enrolled, or be accepted for admission to, an approved school Arkansas public institution.

  • The candidate must demonstrate financial need, as determined by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

  • The candidate must be a U.S. student.
