About the Scholarship
Music has always known to have a divine touch and it requires time and hard work blended with amazing talent to master this art. The Arkansas Chamber Singers Vocal/ Choral Music Scholarship acknowledges this talent and aims to nurture it by encouraging the students to build careers in the music field.
The Scholarship is provided with the aim to promote and motivate students to pursue the art of choral music. This scholarship is for any graduating senior from a public or private high school in Arkansas.
Arkansas Chamber Singers Vocal/ Choral Music Scholarship awards
The scholarship amount is $1000 and it is awarded on an annual basis to students who demonstrate an amazing potential for choral music.
The scholarship is awarded to 2 students annually. The student who gets first place wins $1,000 and second place wins $500 music scholarship award, paid directly to the student upon verification of college enrollment.
Arkansas Chamber Singer Vocal/ Choral Music Scholarship application process
The student must have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 and must pursue majors in music with a specialization in choral or vocal performance at an accredited four-year higher education institution. The application process for the scholarship is as given below:

3 letters of recommendation sealed by an authorized person(one from your high school choral music teacher, one from another of your high school teachers and one from a community leader)
The student is also required to submit an essay of at least 300 words, (less than 325 words) describing his/her desire to pursue a career in the field of music
Officially sealed high school transcripts.
After the submission of the required documents, all the students have to attend an audition and interview on January 29. The applicants are supposed to perform two selections of contrasting styles (from the classical genre). The recipients will be notified after this audition/interview process.
Arkansas Chamber Singer Vocal/ Choral Music Scholarship Deadline
The current submission deadline is December 16, 2019.
The applicant must pursue majors in music with a specialization in choral or vocal performance at an accredited four-year higher education institution.
The student must also be enrolled in the choral music program (curriculum) at the high school in which he or she attends.
He/she must submit an essay of at least 300 words expressing his/her interest in the field of music.
3 letters of recommendation must be submitted along with the other documents.
