About the Scholarship

This fund was established through the members of Associated Grocers Inc. of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This scholarship is started in the memory of Sam S. Politz who is a former President and CEO of Associated Grocers Inc. In order to be part of this scholarship fund, an applicant must enroll in a graduate study in an accredited institution as full-time enrollment. The applicant must stand out exceptional in academic results to obtain this fund.


How to Apply?

  • To be considered for this scholarship award, a candidate must complete a scholarship application form.

  • A candidate is required to submit an academic transcript from the previous semester.

  • He/she also needs to submit the ACT/SAT score report to determine academic achievement.

  • A student must provide an academic resume for this award.

  • A recipient must provide a letter of recommendation from the school’s principal or guidance counselor

  • Additionally, an applicant must write an essay that must give the details about an applicant’s background, interests, and future plans


Award Amount and Deadline:

The foundation is giving four-year scholarship, payable $1,000 per semester for eight consecutive semesters, for a total award of $8,000.

The deadline date for this scholarship is 1st March 2020. All candidates must apply for this scholarship no later than the mentioned date.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a Louisiana high school senior.

  • The applicant should be a graduate enrolling in an accredited institution as a full-time student.

  • The applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or more.

  • The applicant must have scored above 25 for the ACT.
