About the Scholarship

Association of California Water Agencies Awards is accredited by the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA). ACWA is the largest statewide coalition of public water agencies in the country, it was started to help members promote the development, management and use of good quality water at the lowest practical cost and in an environmentally responsible manner.


How to apply for this scholarship?

  • Applicants must submit at least two current letters of recommendation, one from a college professor or employer on business letterhead.

  • Applicants are required to submit their official transcript from every college they have attended.

  • Students must submit an essay of 1000 words or less as described in the application form.

  • The candidates are educated to present their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application to get this award.

  • This scholarship provides $3500 each year to qualified undergraduate students.

  • The total number of awards offered by this scholarship varies annually depending on the availability of funds and students meeting their requirements.


Deadline info

The applications are to be presented before the end of March 01, 2020. Understudies are informed to present their grant application, and other requirements are to be submitted before the due date. Applications and other data are accessible online on the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA). website. 


Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidate at the time of application must be a California resident.

  • Candidate must be studying in an accredited, University of California or California State University.

  • Candidate must be practicing an undergraduate degree in a water resources-related field connected to engineering, public administration, environmental studies, or agricultural and/or urban water supply.

  • Candidate must be at least a junior at the time of the award.

  • The candidate has to consign to full-time enrollment (12-semester units or 16 quarter units) for the whole educational year.

  • Candidate must submit at least two current letters of recommendation (but no more than three), with at least one of the letters originating from a college professor or employer.

  • Candidate must submit the official record for each college they have attended.

  • Candidate must present an essay corresponding to specific prompt (less than 800 words).
