About the Scholarship

BAFTX Undergraduate Award is authorized by The British American Foundation of Texas (BAFTX). The establishment is a 501(c)(3) charitable association by the British American Business Council which was set up in the year 2006. 

The undergraduate grant is planned for low-income families and for understudies residing in Texas and studying in Texas or the United Kingdom well as students residing in the United Kingdom studying in Texas


How to apply for this scholarship?

  • Applicants must submit their application form to meet eligibility.

  • A letter of recommendation is to be submitted by the students applying for this scholarship.

  • Students must provide an essay as described on the application form.

  • A current official transcripts must have been submitted by the students.

  • A digital photo of the applicant is to be uploaded.

  • The candidates are educated to present their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application to get this honor.

  • The total number of awards offered by this scholarship varies each year based on the students meeting their requirements.


Deadline info

The applications are to be presented before the end of March 31, 2020. Understudies are informed to present their grant application, and other requirements are to be submitted before the due date. Applications and other data are accessible online on The British American Foundation of Texas (BAFTX) website.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a resident of Texas or the United Kingdom.

  • The applicant must be enrolled in full-time education within the Texas or UK education system.

  • The applicant must major in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or Business.

  • The applicant must come from a low-income household.

  • The applicant must maintain a GPA of 3.25 or above.

  • The applicant must be able to attend a 15-minute meeting/interview with a BAFTX panel, either in person, telephone or skype.

  • The applicant must be able to attend an Awards Dinner to receive the scholarship in Houston.

  • For a student seeking funding for an overseas study, the applicant must be in possession of a valid passport or eligible to receive one.
