About the Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded by the Better Business Bureau Pacific Southwest, an organization that provides a platform as a marketplace where buyers and sellers can trust each other. They aim to be the leader in advancing marketplace trust. The program aims to help students with resources and tools for online safety, student loans and scholarships, rentals and housing, scholarships, credit and budgeting, and employment scams. Students who complete at least three presentations during the program period will receive an official BBB Ambassador certificate. 


How to apply for the scholarship?

  • Interested applicants should participate in the BBB Ambassador Program, either by yourself or as part of a team of a maximum of three members. Each applicant must submit an individual scholarship application. The participating applicants must give at least three presentations during the period of September 1 to November 29. The presentation scripts can be found on the BBB site and the prepared scripts must be presented, edits and changes to the script content aren't allowed.

  • The grant will be awarded to the applicant or team that gets the highest audience count for their presentation.


How much the scholarship award amounts to?

  • Three scholarships are provided yearly.

  • The award amounts to $2,500 for first place; $1,500 for second place; and $1,000 for third place.

  • All three scholarships are provided on a one-time basis and are non-renewable.

The deadline date is set for October 31


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a high school student.

  • Must reside in San Diego, Orange and Imperial Counties in California.
