About the Scholarship

The Melissa Institute for Violence Prevention and Treatment is a non-profit educational, research and consultative organization that was established to honor the memory of Melissa Aptman. The Melissa Institute provides scholarship awards to support and encourage violence prevention research. In order to become eligible, the applicant must be an accredited doctoral dissertation program student irrespective of the academic major. The applicant must have an approved dissertation proposal by the dissertation committee before enrolling at the Melissa Institute.


How to Appy for Scholarship?

  • In order to apply for this scholarship award, an applicant must specify the title of the proposed thesis.

  • And he/she must give a brief 300 - 500 word abstract of the proposed study

  • An applicant must also give a curriculum vitae, including any scientific publications and presentations with a brief description of your career plan.

  • Additionally, he/she must give a letter of recommendation from your dissertation advisor.


Award Amount and Deadline:

The Melissa Institute is offering up to three awards at a minimum of $3,500 each per academic year.

The deadline date for this scholarship award is 1st March 2019. All applicants must apply for this scholarship award on or before the last deadline date.
