About the Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded by the Amarillo Area Foundation. An organization that began with a dream to address the healthcare needs facing the Texas Panhandle. It is the only non-profit community foundation serving more than 400,000 people in the Texas Panhandle. They provide grants and services to strengthen non-profit organizations and the service they deliver. This scholarship was established to benefit students planning to attend Amarillo College or West Texas A&M University.
How to apply for the scholarship?
The applicant should complete the application which can be found on the Amarillo Area Foundation site.
Along with the application, the applicant must also submit proof of U.S. citizenship or residency, official academic transcripts, ACT/SAT scores, current IRS Form 1040, two recommendation letters and FAFSA.
Consideration will be given to an applicant whose recommendation letters indicate a skill or ability which may not be reflected in the scoresheets or gpa.
How much the scholarship award amounts to?
The award amounts to $500 per semester for up to 8 semesters.
The deadline date is set for February 8
An applicant must be a graduating senior from high school in 26 countries of Texas.
A student must hold at least a 3.2 GPA out of 4 to be eligible for the scholarship.
An individual must be involved in various community services and demonstrate leadership skills.
