About the Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded by the Professional Bowlers Association, a universally well known major league of bowling. The PBA currently has more than 3000 members representing more than 30 countries. This scholarship is awarded yearly to recognize college students with exemplary qualities in bowling and with academic excellence. The scholarship was established to honor the late Billy Welu who was best known for his expert analysis on the popular "Pro Bowlers Tour" series. 


 

How to apply for the scholarship?

  • The applicant must complete the application on the PBA site.

  • Along with the application, the applicant must also submit an essay of no more than 500 words, official academic transcripts, a reference letter, and FAFSA.


How much the scholarship award amounts to?

  • The award amounts to $1,000 per year and is non-renewable.

    One award is offered per year. 


Eligibility Criteria

  • A student must be an undergraduate Student.

  • An applicant Should have a minimum of 2.5 GPA.

  • An applicant must be a United States citizen.

  • A student must be involved in full-time education.
