About the Scholarship

Birdsong Peanuts Scholarship is supported and is produced by the National Future Farmers of America (FFA) Organization to support students' pay for their dream education with no burden.

FFA was started as a dynamic youth organization that changes lives and prepares members for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.

Birdsong Peanuts Scholarship is awarded to one candidate who is enrolled in a postsecondary institution. The scholarship award process is automated and recipients are selected based on individual application meeting requirements. 


What is the application process?

  • Students are required to submit their ACT/SAT score-cards while applying for this scholarship to demonstrate their academic excellence.

  • An essay of 1000 words or less describing why a candidate must be awarded for this scholarship must be submitted by the students in advance.

  • Students must also complete the financial analysis section of the application.

  • The candidates are instructed to fill and submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application to determine his/her family's position to pay for the education.


What is the scholarship award amount?

  • This scholarship award amounts to $1000 annually which is non-renewable, these awards can be used for tuition, fees, books, and equipment required for classes.

  • The total number of awards offered through this scholarship is limited to one deserving candidate each year based on the availability of funds and applications received.


Deadline Information

All the necessary documents and filled application form must be sent to the concerned department of the organization no later than February 06, 2020. Any delay in application submission will lead to disqualification. So, a student is advised to keep track of the deadline and apply it in advance.


Eligibility Criteria

  • An applicant must attend a U.S. institution and have a valid U.S. mailing address.

  • Must be a high school senior and a member of FFA at the time of application

  • A student must be a peanut producer or his/her family must be peanut producers.

  • Must be a resident of Alabama, Florida, or Georgia and plan to enroll as a full-time student.

  • Candidates must be pursuing a four-year degree in agriculture or agribusiness.
