About the Scholarship

Bud Daniels Memorial Scholarship is recognized and sponsored by the Montana Farmers Union. MSU is a statewide grassroots association joining hands for family ranchers, farmers, and country networks through gatherings, grants, and other educational chances as well as legislative representation and support.

This scholarship is provided to help students financially to pay for their higher education. The main motive of this award is to ensure that no students drop out of their education with the money being the reason behind it.

How to apply for this scholarship?

  • Students applying for this scholarship grant must have been completed their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application to receive this award and determine their family financial position.

  • Applicants must provide an essay about their interests and past academic and community involvement. 

  • Candidates must demonstrate Scholastic achievements and financial need from SAR.

Scholarship Amount

  • This scholarship grant provides $500 annually and is non-renewable.

  • The total number of awards offered by this scholarship is limited to one candidate each year based on a student's GPA and academic progress.

Deadline information

All the documents and applications must be submitted by the end of March 01, 2020 to to eligible to receive the scholarship. Applications and other information about the Bud Daniels Memorial Scholarship are available online on the official website of the Montana Farmers Union website.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant should be a sophomore or higher attending an institution in Montana.

  • A student must have a grade point average of 2.8 or above out of 4 to be eligible for the scholarship.

  • The applicant must also maintain the same GPA throughout for the scholarship to continue.

  • Students must be a current MFU family membership dues and be residing in the United States.

  • A recipient must be a sophomore who is attending Montana University or a vocational technical college.
