About the Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded by the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. They enhance the image and promote the integrity of the CPA profession. They provide their members with the tools to be successful and be viewed as leaders in professional issues to newsletters and digital magazines. Their mission is to increase the value and promote the integrity of the CPA profession. All applicants for this grant must be student members of CalCPA.

 


How to apply for the scholarship?

  • The applicant should complete the application which can be found on the CalCPA site.

  • Along with the application, the applicant should also submit an essay of approximately 500 words regarding the topic mentioned in the application.

  • Academic transcripts and FAFSA should also be submitted.


How much the scholarship award amounts to?

  • The award amounts to $3,000 to $6,000 yearly and is non-renewable.

  • The number of awards offered varies per year.


Deadline Information

The deadline date is set for November 1


Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be student members of CalCPA. 

  • A student must be currently attending one of the following colleges or universities: California State University, East Bay; St. Mary’s College; University of California, Berkeley; Mills College.

  • A student should maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above.

  • Recipients must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the United States.

  • Students entering a junior year, a senior year with accounting major or post-graduate studies with accounting or tax emphasis.

  • Prior CalCPA scholarship recipients are not eligible.
