What are the basic requirements needed while applying for this scholarship grant?

  • The understudies applying for this award must present a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application.

  • Applications must be downloaded and completed on a computer. Hand-written applications will not be accepted.

  • An essay of 1,000 words or less must be provided by the students describing why you should be selected as a recipient.

  • Two Letters of Recommendation from two individuals OUTSIDE your family.

  • Official High School and/or College Transcript must be submitted by the students.


Capture the Dream, Inc award amounts to

  • This foundation provides $1000 for both George Gend-On Lee and Single parent Scholarship.

  • The total number of awards offered by this scholarship is limited to one candidate each year depending on the availability of funds.


Deadline info

The applications are to be presented before the end of June 30, 2020. Understudies are informed to present their grant application and other requirements are to be submitted before the due date. Applications and other data are accessible online on the Capture the Dream, Inc website.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a resident Bay Area. 

  • The applicant should belong to a low-income household.

  • The applicant must be one or more minor children's legal parent/guardian.

  •  The applicant must be enrolled at an accredited, not-for-profit two or four-year institution.
