About the Scholarship

CFIC Everett and Trudy Suddreth Scholarship of Excellence is supported by The Carolinas Food Industry Council (CFIC). The association was shaped in the year 2004, CFIC is an exchange association serving both North and South Carolina whose reason for existing is to improve people in general picture, adequacy, and profitability of retailers and providers to the food industry.

How to apply for this scholarship grant?

  • The understudies applying for this honor must present a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application.

  • The applicants must submit an essay describing their interest.

  • The candidates must submit employment history and work verification certificates while applying for this grant.

  • An official transcript of all high school coursework completed must have been submitted.


CFIC Everett and Trudy Suddreth Scholarship of Excellence award amounts to

  • This scholarship provides $2500 which is non-renewable.

  • The total number of awards offered by this scholarship is limited to 40 deserving candidates who meet their eligibility criteria.


Deadline info

The applications are to be presented before the end of March 25, 2019. Understudies are informed to present their grant application and other requirements are to be submitted before the due date. Applications and other data are accessible online on The Carolinas Food Industry Council (CFIC) website.


Eligibility Criteria

  • A spouse or dependent of a permanent, full-time employee of a CFIC Retail, Wholesale or Supplier Member Company (Employee must be employed for at least 1 year). 

  • Any student who is, at the minimum, a part-time employee of a CFIC Retail, Wholesale or Supplier Member Company (Student must be employed for at least 6 months).

  • The High School Seniors who are enrolling for the fall semester as College Freshmen.

  • The College Undergraduates who are enrolling for the fall semester as a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior.

  • The Students who have previously received a CFIC scholarship are eligible to apply again.
