About the Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded by the United States Bowling Congress, an organization established to serve bowlers of all ages. It is the national governing body of bowling as recognized by the United States Olympic Committee. Additionally, it provides standardized guidelines to make bowling fun and fair for everyone.
This scholarship yearly picks out male high school senior or college student who have exceptional qualities as a bowler. Exceptional qualities include top performances in the local, regional, state and national levels. The scholarship will be formally presented at the annual USBC Convention, which can even be attended by the candidate's parents/guardian in which the travel and hotel expenses will be covered by USBC.
How to apply for the scholarship?
The applicant must complete the application that can be found on the official USBC website.
Along with the application, the applicant should also submit an essay in over 500 words.
An applicant must also submit official academic transcripts, two reference letters, and FAFSA form to determine the financial position of his/her family.
Deadline and Scholarship Amount?
- The award amounts to $6,000 per year and is non-renewable.
One award is offered per year.
A student should submit all the required documents no later than December 01, 2019.
An Applicant must be a legally recognized United States citizen who's involved in pursuing their undergraduate degree.
To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must have maintained a grade point average of 3 out of 4.
A student must be an active member of the United States Bowling Congress at the time of the application.
