About the Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded by Cornell University, one of the first institutions of higher education in the US to offer advanced degrees. In fact, it was also one of the very first university to admit women and African American students. They offer fellowships that provide financial support to graduate students to pursue graduate studies without research responsibilities. UCLA's fellowship database offers an extensive list of fellowship opportunities to consider. Admitted Ph.D. students will be notified of any fellowship awards as part of the admissions offer.


 

How to apply for the scholarship?

  • The applicants who wish to be considered for this fellowship, while filling out the admission application, should respond with a 'yes' to the question regarding consideration for fellowships.

  • Based on your application, the graduate field to which you are applying for, will consider your eligibility for fellowships.

  • Applicants are advised to check with the department they are applying, for specific details and deadlines related to their field of study.


How much the scholarship award amounts to?

The award amounts to $27,218 for Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences or $31,380 for Physical Sciences & Engineering and Life Science.

The deadline date is set for January 15

 


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be accepted to a graduate program at Cornell University.

  • Must be applying to graduate school at the time of fellowship application. Returning graduate students are not eligible for consideration.
