About the Scholarship
CT Minority Teacher Incentive Grant Program is awarded to the applicants who start teaching in public school within 6 months of graduate study in the state of Connecticut. The recipients of the Connecticut state are also assisted by this scholarship to pursue their higher academic education. The students who demonstrate good academic scores and the financial burden of a family with respect to education will receive this scholarship opportunity.
How to apply for a Scholarship?
In order to apply for this scholarship, all applicants need to fill and submit the FAFSA application form that is used to determine the financial position and needs of a student.
As soon as an applicant fills and submits their FAFSA application, Student Aid Report and EFC will be generated to determine the financial position of his/her family.
An applicant can visit the Connecticut Office of Higher Education website to get to know about additional information about the scholarship.
What is the Total Amount Awarded?
The organization is awarding $5000 per year and is renewable to an additional one year. The total number of scholarships offered vary each year and depends on the number of applications received.
All the documents and records must be submitted no later than 15th October 2019.
Applicant must be African-American, Hispanic/Latino, Asian American or Native American heritage and be nominated by the Education Dean.
An applicant must study full-time in a teacher preparation program for the junior or senior year at a Connecticut college or university.
A recipient must be a legally recognized citizen of the United States and a resident of Connecticut.
Candidates who have already passed out from any recognized institution from the USA and are planning to attend DHE's approach to certification may also be eligible.
