About the Scholarship
The Delaware Higher Education Office provides scholarships to students who have been an active participant in cross country programs in the high school level.
Delaware Open Cross Country Championship Scholarship helps the students to get a proper education without having to face any financial obstacles. The recipients of the scholarship are selected mainly based on their financial need status, academic achievements and the participation in cross country programs.
Delaware Open Cross Country Championship Scholarships Award
Scholarship worth $2000 is awarded to one male and one female student to fund the college costs in the freshman year of college.
Delaware Open Cross Country Championship Scholarships Requirements
The applicant must have participated in the cross country programs in the junior and senior years of high school.
The cross country coach must nominate the student for the scholarship.
The applicant must be entering a regionally accredited institution for a two-year or four-year study program as a full-time student.
Delaware Open Cross Country Championship Scholarships Application
The applicant must create a student account on the official website of the Delaware Higher Education Office and mention all the activities the latter has participated in. Complete the online application form filling in the correct details.
The student must submit the following documents along with the application form:
Coaches’ nomination form that is signed by the nominating coach the applicant.
An unofficial copy of the academic record report and SAT/ ACT scores.
A copy of the applicant’s FAFSA report.
The applicant must also submit two letters of recommendation from individuals apart from the coach.
Delaware Open Cross Country Championship Scholarships Application Deadline
The application and other related documents must be submitted to the Higher Education Office by 6th November 2019. No application will be considered after the deadline.
The student should have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 in high school.
The student should have participated in high school cross country programs during junior and senior years.
The applicant must be enrolled for full-time 2 or 4-year academic program at an eligible institution.
