Detroit Promise Scholarship Program

Detroit Promise Scholarship Program is provided by Mayor Mike Duggan in March of 2016. This program covers a part of tax dollars to permanently the scholarships fund of two years. Detroit Promise, controlled by the Detroit Regional Chamber, ensures that any Detroit-occupant student graduating in the spring of 2018 from a secondary school in the city of Detroit will have an institutional cost-free way to an associate degree.

students should check with their school to guarantee that their degree or specialized certificate is qualified for this program. This grant is awarded every year which incorporates educational cost fees.students are required to be registered for half time at least.students must have a base score of 21 ACT/SAT, if not they can appear for a retest. students must keep up GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, and satisfy the rules of academic necessities.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must maintain a minimum 2.5 overall GPA at all times.

  • The applicant must remain on track to complete a degree within four years.

  • The applicant must be a full-time student and successfully pass/complete at least 12 credits per semester (24 credits per school year).
