About the Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded by the National Council of Jewish Women - Los Angeles Section (NCJW/LA), founded by women who were committed to bringing about social and political change to improve the quality for women, children, and families. They've always been a powerful catalyst for social change. The applicant for this scholarship must be a woman, 25 years or older, re-entering or continuing school.


How to apply for the scholarship?

  • The applicant should complete the application which can be found on the National Council of Jewish Women site and submit all the supportive documents before the deadline.

  • Each application can be used to apply for up to two awards. A student must also fill in their FAFSA application form that is used to determine one's financial position to pay for education.

  • Along with the application, the application must also submit an essay and two recommendation letters.

  • Additionally, it is mandatory that a student submit a personal statement and official academic transcripts.


How much the scholarship award amounts to?

The award amounts to $1,000 for 2 students per year and is non-renewable.

All the necessary documents must be submitted to the office no later than November 01, 2019 to enjoy the scholarship benefits.


Eligibility Criteria

  • An applicant must be an undergraduate student or graduate student.

  • A recipient must attend a university, a four-year college, two-year college or a vocational-tech school.

  • A student applicant must be at least 25 years old and be a United States citizen.

  • The application is restricted to only female students.
