About the Scholarship

Emerson Memorial Scholarship is accredited by the Lexington Community Foundation. The foundation was established in the year 1982 to provide a permanent source of funding for opportunities to improve the quality of life,  strengthen the sense of community and benefit future generations in Lexington, Nebraska.

Emerson Memorial Scholarship was started by Wilbur, in memory of both he and his father to graduates of Lexington High School who are enrolled at any university or college as a collegiate junior, senior or graduate student.

How to apply for this scholarship?

  • Students must have been completed their application page.

  • A statement of 250 words describing college major and career objectives statement.

  • Candidates must demonstrate financial need.

  • Two letters of recommendation are to be submitted by the students.

  • one-page resume listing school community activities, memberships, academic achievements, awards, and work experiences.

  • A copy of the current official transcript must have been submitted by the students.

  • The candidates are educated to present their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application to get this award.

Emerson Memorial Scholarship award amounts to

  • This scholarship provides $1000 each year which is non-renewable.

  • The total number of awards offered by this scholarship varies depending on the availability of funds and students meeting their requirements.

Deadline info

The applications are to be presented before the end of April 012020. understudies are informed to present their grant application, and other requirements are to be submitted before the due date. Applications and other data are accessible online on the Lexington Community Foundation website.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidate should have studied at least 2yrs in high school and graduate from Lexington.

  • Candidate should have 2.5 GPA or higher

  • Must have involved in community service, art activities or extracurricular activities.

  • Candidate should be able to show financial need.
