About the Scholarship

From the year 2007, The Members of the Michigan Oil and Gas Association (MOGA) is giving financial support for  Michigan graduating high school seniors and college students pursuing degrees in fields of crude oil and natural gas exploration and production industry. An academic scholarship program established in 2005 to assist the residents of Michigan economically to pursue higher study. It is contributed to honor the memory of Michigan oil and gas industry veterans Tony Howard, James Bigard and William Roth. In addition to the good academic performance, A  student must be involved in the co-curricular and extracurricular activities.


How to Apply for Scholarship?

  • In order to apply for this award, an applicant must submit an online scholarship application.

  • A student should need to provide his/her personal information to fill up the scholarship application form.

  • In addition to that, an applicant must give college/institution details and their academic performance in ACT/SAT scores in the application form.

  • A student must upload a copy of his/her most recent transcript from the educational institution you are attending. 

  • Also, an applicant must provide a personal resume or employment history.


Award Amount and Deadline:

The organization is funding a minimum award of $500 to five applicants annually and it will be paid directly to the Educational Institution where the applicant is enrolled. 

The scholarship deadline date is fixed on 3rd August 2019.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a resident of the state of Michigan.

  • The applicant must be enrolled in an accredited university or college in Michigan State.

  • The applicant must demonstrate financial need.

  • The applicant must have a minimum GPA of 2.75.

  • The applicant must be enrolled to pursue a course of study affiliated with Michigan’s Oil and Natural Gas Industry.
