About the Scholarship

FAU Honors/Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship is sponsored by Florida Atlantic University. A university that was established in the year 1961 to provide outstanding education to help students achieve their educational objectives.

This scholarship is provided for incoming junior transfers who are in need of financial assistance to pay for their education. FAU provides students with the skills to turn dreams into reality. It is important that a student is enrolled in FAU before applying for any scholarship.


How to apply for the FAU Honors/Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship?

  • The online application form is available on the official website of the university. A student must provide his/her FAU ID. This ID is generated upon successful registration of any course in FAU.

  • Students applying for this scholarship must have to complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application to determine his/her family's financial position to pay for their education.

  • The student must write a personal essay on a topic of his/her choice and submit it to the financial aid division of the university before the deadline.

  • To be eligible for this scholarship, a student is also required to submit a letter of recommendation from his/her honors or Phi Theta Kappa advisor.


What is the scholarship award amount?

  • This scholarship award amounts to $3,200 annually which is renewable for up to five semesters or until graduation.

  • This award is paid out in equal installments of $1,600 per semester.

  • The number of awards offered varies annually and scholarships are limited in number.

  • The scholarship is competitive and is awarded annually on a rolling basis early in the scholarship cycle.


Deadline Information

All the above-mentioned documents along with the application form must be sent to the concerned department of the university no later than March 01, 2020.

A student in case fails to submit their application form on time will lead to disqualification.


Eligibility Criteria

  • Recipients must be enrolled full-time (12 or more semester hours) at FAU.

  • A student should maintain an FAU cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher out of 4 to be eligible for the scholarship.

  • A student must demonstrate financial need for financial assistance by submitting necessary documents.

  • Candidates must be legally recognized citizens of the United States.
