About the Scholarship
The Fisher House Foundation Scholarships for Military Children was created in recognition of the contributions of military families for the service o fighting force and to celebrate the role of the commissary in the military family community. The applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll full-time in a four-year U.G college or university, accredited in the U. S or a two-year community college. The Foundation nominates the students based on Academic achievement, Participation in school, community and volunteer activities, Work experience.
How to Apply?
In order to apply for this scholarship, an applicant must create an account with the username and password to get an online application.
An applicant must write a short, 500-word essay.
High school applicants must submit a copy of official transcript indicating a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
College applicants must submit a copy of official transcript indicating a cumulative minimum GPA of 2.5 or above on a 4.0 scale.
Applicants must demonstrate their eligibility as a military dependent by entering the benefits number found on the reverse of the DD Form 1173 U.S. Uniformed Services Identification and Privilege Card, and certify that at least one parent serves or has served in the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force or Coast Guard.
Award Amount and Deadline:
The Scholarships for Military Children Program will award $2,000 to deserving applicants and the award is non-renewable.
The scholarship deadline is on 13th February 2019. Hence all applicants must submit their all official documents and scholarship application before the deadline.
The applicant must be a dependent child under the age 23 of reserve/guard and retired military member, active military duty personnel, or survivor of a service member who died while on active duty or survivors of individuals who died while receiving retired pay from the military.
The applicant must be enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited university or college for pursuing an undergraduate bachelor's degree program as a full-time student.
The applicant must be a high school student with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
The applicant must be a college student with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
