About the Scholarship

The "GE Women's Network Scholarship" award is awarded by the organization 'Society of Women Engineers (SWE)'. This 'Society of Women Engineers (SWE)' given assistance to the women who are interested in engineering and made their career as an engineer. The 'Society of Women Engineers (SWE)' starts to empower women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering and technology professions as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and demonstrate the value of diversity and inclusion.


How to apply for the scholarship: 

  • In order to apply for these scholarships, one should contact the organization who is offering the scholarship.

  • In order to qualify for the federal grants or loans, one should complete the FAFSA application.

  • Besides, to be eligible for State Grants one should get their FAFSA completed.

  • Applicants have to score in SAT/ACT examination.
  • To understand the entire process to apply for a scholarship, students can get numerous resources or assistance from various sources.

  • It is very essential to understand the source of origin of the money and also to be aware of how to invest the money once received.

  • Federal student aid is a primary resource for many students.

    The awarded amount for the scholarship:

    The awarded amount for this scholarship is $5000 per year and is non-renewable. The number of awards given to the eligible candidates per year is 43.

    Deadline for the scholarship:

    The deadline for this scholarship is the 15th of February.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must demonstrate leadership roles outside of academics and involvement in engineering professional organizations.

  • Students must have a discipline-related internship and have presentation skills.

  • Recipients must be willing to intern at GE.

  • A student must be Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, Graduate

  • Applicants must enroll in a program accredited by ABET.

  • The graduate recipient must not be IE. 

  • A student should have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
