About the Scholarship

Hawaii Community Foundation Scholarship offers many scholarships to students of Hawaii planning to enroll in higher education (graduate or undergraduate) at a two-year or a four-year accredited college or university.

The Hawaii Community Foundation program offers 170 scholarship funds and the eligibility criteria are different for the different types of scholarships as determined by the donor. The interested students are required to fill only a single application form for all the available scholarships.

Hawaii Community Foundation Scholarship Awards

The award amount varies from one scholarship to another, the maximum award amount being $2,500.

  • The scholarship amount is meant for the undergraduate or graduate tuition fee and other educational expenses such as books and supplies, accommodation in dorm rooms, and more, for the awarded academic year.

  • The scholarship amount is made payable to the school on behalf of the applicant and is usually done in two installments, one in August for the fall semester and one in December for the spring semester.

  • The scholarships can be renewed every successive year through another application process given that the applicant meets the eligibility requirements and has satisfactory academic performance.

  • For a few scholarships, the priority might be given to renewal students for selection.

  • The number of awards offered every year is dependent on the available funds and the number of eligible applicants.
