About the Scholarship

Hearthstone Housing Foundation accredits the Hearthstone Housing Foundation Scholarship Fund. This organization is a nonprofit public benefit corporation that was established in the year 1992 and is dedicated to providing housing for low-income families, the elderly and the disabled. 

This scholarship fund is available to students who reside in a Hearthstone property or in the surrounding region, to obtain a college degree. This fund is provided to compensate for the rising costs of education to those struggling students who dream about their education and are good at academics.


How to apply for this scholarship

  • Students are required to submit their personal statement along with their current official transcripts by filling the online application form.

  • 2 letters of recommendation must be provided by the candidates applying for this scholarship grant.

  • The understudies applying for this award must present a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application form to determine their family's financial position to pay for the education.

  • Students must also submit their Tax returns and other required supplemental materials to the organization.


Scholarship Award Amount

  • This scholarship award ranges from $500 to $5000 each year and is non-renewable.

  • The total number of awards offered varies depending on the availability of funds and the total number of applications received for the current academic year.


Deadline Information

All the applications and necessary documents are to be presented to the concerned department on or before the end of March 31, 2020. Understudies are informed to present their grant application, and other requirements are to be submitted before the due date to be one among the eligible candidates.


Eligibility Criteria

  • An applicant must belong to a family with low income and be between the age of 16 and 25.

  • A student must be a resident of a Hearthstone Housing Foundation property or a county where a Hearthstone property is located.

  • Candidates must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75 if a college student and 3.0 out of 4 if a high school student.

  • The applicant must be attending a high school, college/university, graduate school, trade school, professional/leadership training, internship.

  • A recipient must be enrolled in a college test-taking preparation course, leadership conference, or other academic enriching activity during the upcoming academic year.
