About the Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded by the Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development. The Missouri Higher Education Academic Scholarship Program (Bright Flight) is a merit-based program that encourages top-ranked high school seniors to attend approved Missouri postsecondary schools.
How to apply for the scholarship?
There is no application to fill out.
Interested applicants must submit their academic transcripts, ACT/SAT scores and FAFSA to MDHEWD.
How much the scholarship award amounts to?
The award amount depends on the ACT/SAT score:
- If the ACT score is 30, the award amount can be up to $1000
- If the ACT score is 31 or above, the award amount can be up to $3000
The scholarship may be renewed yearly for up to 10 semesters or until you have completed a bachelor's degree, whichever occurs first.
An applicant must be a Missouri resident and a permanent citizen of the United States.
An applicant applying for the scholarship must have earned at least a 2.5 grade point average out of 4 to be eligible.
A student must not be pursuing a degree or a certificate in theology or divinity.
