About the Scholarship

The Horticultural Society of South Jersey is pleased to offer one scholarship to help and encourage a graduating high school senior who will enter the study of horticulture, floriculture, landscape design, plant botany, forestry, agronomy, plant pathology, conservation, environmental science as it relates directly to horticulture. In order to receive this scholarship, Applicants must be a high school senior graduating in 2019, A legal resident of the State of New Jersey and reside and attend a high school in one of the following New Jersey counties: Camden County, Burlington County, Gloucester County.


How to Apply?

  • To be the recipient of this scholarship award, applicants must provide a completed application form which is available on the official website.

  • Two letters of recommendation that discuss scholastic ability, personal character and/or work or school-related experiences of the applicant.

  • In addition to that, applicants must provide a copy of his or her college or institutional transcripts to demonstrate their academic eligibility.

  • No application will be received electronically and all the above-mentioned transcripts must be postmarked before the given deadline.


Award Amount and Deadline Info:

The scholarship award amount is $500 given to any number of eligible applicants annually. The scholarship check will be sent to the registrar of the college or university where a student is enrolled, to be deposited in the student’s account. 

The candidates who are applying for this scholarship must submit the online scholarship application and the above-mentioned transcripts on or before 1st May 2019.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be graduating high school senior and must be in one of the following counties- Camden County, Burlington County, Gloucester County.

  • Must be a legal resident of New Jersey.

  • Must plan to attend an accredited college or university in the U.S.
