About the Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded by the National Council of Jewish Women - Los Angeles Section (NCJW/LA), founded by women who were committed to bringing about social and political change to improve the quality for women, children, and families. They've always been a powerful catalyst for social change. This award is given to women or men enrolled or accepted to a degree program in nursing. Applicants are also eligible for the June Miller Nursing Education Scholarship.


How to apply for the scholarship?

  • The applicant should complete the application which can be found on the National Council of Jewish Women site. It is also important that a student fill and submit a FAFSA application form to determine their financial position and the scholarships they are eligible for.

  • Each application can be used to apply for up to two awards. 

  • Along with the application, the applicant should also submit an essay and a personal statement.

  • Additionally, a recipient must submit their official academic transcripts and two recommendation letters before the deadline.


Award Amount and Deadline

The award amounts to $2,000 for 2 deserving students per year and is non-renewable.

All the required must be submitted to the institution by a student on or before November 01, 2019. Any applications submitted later than the date fixed will be rejected.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be an undergraduate student or graduate student.

  • Applicants must attend a university or a four-year college.

  • The applicant must be a US citizen. who is enrolled in a part-time or a full-time program.

  • To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must be pursuing their degree in the nursing major.
