About the Scholarship
Jacqueline Shearer Memorial Scholarship is accredited by the Ulman Foundation. The foundation is a non-profit organization that was established in the year 1997. The foundation was started to change the lives by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, impacted by cancer.
The Scholarship was established by Jacqueline’s family to honor her amazing strength and to carry on her legacy, it was started to provide limited financial assistance for children and young adult patients (up to 40 years of age) with significant financial needs during their cancer treatment.
How to apply for this scholarship?
Candidates are required to submit their application form to meet eligibility.
The students applying for this grant must submit an essay as described on the application form.
The understudies applying for this award must present a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine the financial position of a student.
This scholarship provides $2500 each year which is non-renewable.
The total number of awards offered by this scholarship is limited to two candidates each year depending on the availability of funds and students meeting their requirements.
The applications are to be presented to the financial aid department before the end of March 11, 2020. Understudies are informed to present their grant application, and other requirements before the due date to be eligible to avail of the benefits of the scholarship.
An applicant must be a cancer survivor or has supported a family member through cancer.
A student must be seeking a degree program and must be in need of financial assistance.
A candidate is a resident of the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area.
