About the Scholarship

JAINA Academic Scholarship Program is accredited and is recognized by the Federation of Jain Associations in North America (JAINA). The foundation is a non-profit organization that preserves and shares Jain Dharma and the Jain Way of Life.

The JAINA Academic Scholarship Program (JASP) provides educational grants and financially assists secondary school seniors going into school who wish to seek after higher learning in arts, science, engineering, and literature majors.

Application Procedure

  • Candidates must complete their JASP scholarship application form available online on the official website of JAINA.

  • An essay of 500 words or less describing his/her academic and career goals and answering "Why you should be selected for this award" must be sent to the financial aid department without fail.

  • An official copy of a school or college transcript must be submitted along with a letter of recommendation before the deadline.

  • Students must demonstrate their list of activities participated in at their Jain Center.

  • The understudies applying for this award must present a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application form that is used to determine the financial position of a student's family to pay for their education.

Scholarship Award Amount

  • This scholarship provides $1500 to all deserving candidates every year based on an applicant's profile.

  • A total of 20 awards are offered through this scholarship each year depending on the availability of funds.

Deadline Information

All the necessary documents must be sent to the concerned department no later than May 31, 2020, to be eligible to receive the scholarship fund. Students are advised to keep track of the deadlines as any application submitted post-May 31 will be disqualified.

Eligibility Criteria

  • An applicant must be a Jain follower and be a resident of the United States.

  • The applicant must demonstrate a need for financial assistance.

  • To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must be exceptionally good at their academics and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better.

  • Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited university or college in North America.
