About the Scholarship

James F. Reville Scholarship is accredited by The Arc Newyork. The family-led organization that advocates and provides support and services to people with intellectual, developmental, and other disabilities, emphasizing choice and community engagement.

James F. Reville Scholarship provides financial assistance for full-time college students who have enrolled in programs related to the intellectual and developmental disability field such as behavioral sciences, social work, nursing, healthcare administration, and management, or psychology.


Application Process

  • Candidates are required to fill the online application form found on the official website with all the relevant information.

  • Students must demonstrate the need for financial assistance by providing all the relevant documents to meet eligibility.

  • The understudies applying for this award must present a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application form that determines the financial position of a student and their family to pay for the education.


Scholarship Award Amount

  • This scholarship provides a sum of $1500 for 2 semesters, which is non-renewable, but the funds must be claimed within four years from the time the scholarship is awarded.

  • The total of 2 scholarships is awarded each year depending on the students meeting their requirements.


Deadline Information

The applications are to be presented to the concerned department on or before the end of January 21, 2020. Any application submitted later then January 21 will be disqualified. So, a student is advised to keep track of deadlines and send the documents in advance.


Eligibility Criteria

  • An applicant must be enrolled in an accredited university or college as a full-time student.

  • Candidates must be training in a field related to the intellectual and other developmental disabilities in New York State.
