About the Scholarship
Kevin Thompson Scholarship Fund is licensed by The Anniston Community Education Foundation (ACEF). The foundation is a public charity that provides funding to public/municipal organizations and need-based educational services to the children in the targeted communities and regions.
The Kevin Thompson Fund is a need-based scholarship available to graduating seniors from Anniston and Wellborn High Schools. Those students who wish to further their education in Music or Education. Participation in ACEF's Youth Coalition will also be considered.
How to apply for this scholarship grant?
Candidates must present their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application form to determine that what scholarship fund he/she is eligible for.
The applicant must demonstrate community involvement. Seniors must be able to show at least 20 hours of community service over their time in high school while returning applicants must have 40 hours over the previous year.
Students applying for this grant must submit an essay describing a topic on the application form.
What is the scholarship award amount?
This scholarship award amounts to $2000 each academic year which is non-renewable.
The total number of awards offered by this scholarship varies and depends on the total number of applications received for the scholarship.
What is the last day to submit the application form?
All the necessary documents and application forms must be sent to the financial aid division of the foundation no later than March 15, 2020. For any further assistance on filling the application, a student can contact the support department as an applicant sent post-March will be rejected.
An applicant must be a graduating high school senior or returning scholarship recipient attending Anniston or Wellborn High School.
A student must be good in their academics and maintain a grade point average of 2.0 out of 4 to be eligible for the scholarship.
Candidates must plan to pursue or be pursuing a major in Music or Education and demonstrate interest and involvement in community services.
Applicants must be willing to attend scholarship orientation with the Anniston Community Education Foundation.
