About the Scholarship

The scholarship is initiated by the NSSED Foundation, The main purpose of the Kinnett Scholarship for College/Further Education is to provide financial assistance for graduating high school seniors to achieve one of two specific goals. The first goal is to aid students whose intention is to pursue a college degree in the area of Special Education, and the second objective is to aid students receiving special education services to pursue their choice of further education, whether through a college or vocational school.


How to Apply for Scholarship?

  • Students applying for a scholarship are required to submit a completed application that is available on the official website.

  • In addition to that, the students are required to submit a list of student and community activities in which they have been involved, including service to children and/or families with disabilities.

  • A candidate must give a list of awards or accomplishments he/she has received, and two letters of recommendation in which one is personal and one from a high school teacher or administrator.

  • To demonstrate an academic achievement he/she must submit the official transcripts of test scorecards.

  • Finally, a student must write an essay on the topic given in the application form.

Award Amount and Deadline:

The scholarship award amount is $1,000 available annually to any number of eligible applicants.

The deadline date for this scholarship is 8th April 2019. All applicants must submit a scholarship application and official documents before the mentioned date.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a senior graduate of the NSSED affiliated high school.

  • The applicant must submit letters of recommendation, one personal and one from a high school teacher or administrator.

  • The applicant should be enrolled for a degree in a college in the field of Special Education.
